Stargate Future

Well, I figured you all should know about this, all things considered...

Stargate Future is a political virtual series set 300 years into the Ovra Continuum. The series is set in the current known galaxies (i.e. Pegasus, Ida, and the Milky Way) along with the Holokarian Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy.

The basic premise is this: while under the effects of the Replicator-controlled time-dilation device, First came to the conclusion that creating an "Ark" for its race would be the best way to preserve it, in case the humans of Earth found a way to stop them. "The Ark," as it is known, was sent out far into the universe to multiply, and them come back in a set amount of time.

After taking control of the Replicators, Fifth and RepliCarter created another consciousness, named Orion, to go hunt The Ark, and destroy it.

Fast forwarding about 300 years, things have changed quite a bit since we last left off. Second Atlantis and Earth have been long-standing enemies for a while, the 500 year old Lornacor are about to be born, Orion has been in a deadlock with the Holokarians for over 100 years, and The Ark is ready to return.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the future!

(I've put this in the Cancelled Stargate Series section, because I give this about as good odds of survival as the Oxygen in this room all gathering up on the other side of this room. I.e. This doesn't have good odds of survival.)

You could turn your idea into a mini-series / movie, and pitch it in the SGU Productions section. Then you could write a few scripts, to get your idea out without requiring the full-time committment of getting a series under way.

Thank you for the offer, but I decline: I still plan on trying to do this. It's just going to take me several years to get started...

Next task: comming up with all the needed characters!

Thats why a mini-series might be a better option. The characters don't have to be as developed. And you certainly don't need as many main ones.

Also a mini series presents alot of opportunities. The chance to continue the story latter as a true series or just write serveral connecting mini-series. I agree with you that on the surface it doesnt seem to have much longevity but I really think a mini-series or a series of movie's would let this idea shine.

Given my apparent difficulty with character development, I was hoping to have a nice series to use for practicing intense character development.

And to clarify, it would be my own inability that would make the show fail, not the show's premise itself. (Though as a political series, it'd certainly be hard for me...)

Making a mini-series out of this might work, but it'd require me to restructure what I have at the moment...

Well cancelled series don't ussually have discussion continue for long. But yeah if you want to do a mini-series or jsut a trilogy of movies or seomthing maybe propose it in the SG:U productiosn section?

OTOH, the conversion to mini-series is going better than expected, though I still don't have an ending.
