I'm looking for help in developing my own VS. For those of you who have seen the thread at Gateworld you'll know the working title for this series was Stargate Delta. Pending any other name changes it will now be known as Stargate:Cygnus (mainly because it sounds cool).
I am specifically looking for someone who can help in designing a website and will eventually be on the lookout for writers.
As promised here is some story info:
The first season of Stargate: Cygnus takes place between seasons 8 and 9 of SG-1. We begin by meeting the members of SG-9. These are:
Colonel Jake Schofield- the leader of the team. An ace pilot with a razor sharp wit. He is an undaunted and stoic tactician who has led his team for many years.
Captain Melissa Hart- A brilliant sharp shooter and team weapons expert. She is intensely loyal to Colonel Schofield. She likes to assert her authority on her subordinates but forms strong attachments to those she works with. She hates the Goa'uld with a passion because Lt. Astor (divide and conquer) was her best friend.
Lieutenant Lance Liebermann- A born engineer and soldier. He is often aggressive, swears and has a vulgar sense of humor but these things tend to hide his strong sense of honour.
Al-Thani- The alien member of the team. He was discovered by the rest of the tean in stasis. His race is believed to have died out long ago and he has no memory of who they were or who he was. He has mastered hundreds of different languages and technologies.
The team are facing court and possible discharge for disobeying orders in an attempt to save another SG team. Before their trial they are confronted by a representative for a powerful and secretive government agency. He gives them a choice. They can avoid trial and dishonourable discharge if they join a secret expedition established offworld to continue the use of the Stargate in our galaxy. The team accepts the proposal and fakes their own deaths before becoming the only team operating out of the secret base (formerly known as Delta site now probably Cygnus base).
Through the course of the first season they will encounter a new enemy. The reason I have given so much character information is that the series will be greatly character based. The first episode will not be introducing the new enemy or much of the new sorroundings. Where the series picks up the team have been together for years. In the pilot I hope to have flash backs explaining how the characters met and establishing each character. This emphasis on the characters is the reason I believe I should write most (if not all) of the first season myself.
The second season will be more heavily focused on arcs and tying in the origins and practices of the enemy with aspects of the established SG cannon and particlarly with one of the characters.
I have worked very hard on creating the characters and plotting the story arcs of this series and I hope you can get behind me and help me make this vision of mine a reality. If it is truly realised as I have planned it this series will deliver complex characters, exciting action, and intelligent sci-fi stories and will capture as much as possible the spirit of Stargate.
