I've started a mini-series which is based in the future, (around the time SG1 went to the future in the episode "1969").
Here is some details about the series: It will be about 53 episodes long. It has two main story lines; in the middle of the series they merge to become one story. The story is based on the Book of Revelation, and Old Testament Prophesies, plus a "world" of my own creation (more details later). Here we will meet the Furlings, and also find out why the "alliance of the four races" was originally formed and why it ceased to exist. We will run into the Orii again, but this time they will be working for a "Greater Evil", a being who exists in a plain of existence that is higher then that of the Orii.
The story gets complicated as it proceeds, but at the end it will all be clarified.
I have never written a fan-fic before, never mind a VS. But I am trying. I can’t do this project alone; I would love to work with some other fans that have experience with writing VS.
Contact me if you are interested or want more info about my series.

Well, over on the Gateworld forums he said that it was in prose but is rewriting it as VS, script based. So I think it should be OK to leave it here, I was just confirming out of interest.

Rightio. Quite a few relating to the bible lately. Yep, with all the religion and myth in SG-1 it was only a matter of time until it came up in fictions, and VS once they started to become populer.

Well TPTB kept away from it because it's a modern religion...I hope you guys don't run into too much trouble.
Got any more information for us? What is the Omega?

The Omega is a unique star system, it is nick name The Omega System, and in the series our solar system is called the Alpha System.
It takes place about 70-80 years into the future. One main characters is Lt. Geeves. He is part of the current SGC (a member of a SG team that we have not met.)
On a off world base something goes wrong and he attempts to go to earth for get help, but he enters the event horizon at the same time as a solar flare (this base has no DHD, thus it is hooked up to a computer.)
When he steps through the same thing happens to him as what happened to SG1 in the episode "1969", except that he goes 70 or 80 years (few years before SG1 travelled into the future in "1969").
An evil being, more powerful then the Ori, has taken control of earth's number one leader, the president of the United States of Europe, or USE, the present EU. He takes on the persona of Jesus and become the Antichrist of Revelation.
All the event that occur on Earth are taken from the Book of Revelation, and other prophecies in the Bible. The big question throughout the series is "was the Bible written by Ancient Time Travellers? or True Prophecies?"
The Omega System is met in the pilot episode and we leave it behind in the middle of the series. But we do come back to it once or twice later on. The Omega System is a twin Star System (stars equal in size, brighhtness, etc.) There are three large planets in the system, all in the same orbit and equal in distance from one another, thus they dont crash into each other.
The third planet, a gasious giant, called Altia, has 25 moons. Most of them can sustain life and a fifth of them have intelligent life. Later i will give a list of the aliens, or you could go to my thread at GateWorld, under Fan Fiction.
For those of you wondering, i am a Christian and i have thought of this idea before i came across Stargate. Since then i have implemented SG into my story. Its the only sci-fi that works for me.
More information will be posted soon. If you want to know anything specific about SG Omega let me know.

Personally I think, continue with the virtual series, but I relly don't think it needs a stargate to be good. I say run it as it's own independent VS, i'd read it for sure.

Hmm, yea. You might be able to have this as an original VS without stargates.

i have thought of haveing it as it on its own. but that will ruin the whole thing. i dont want to create a new "universe". a major part of Stargate: Omega is the look into why the alliance of the four races was originally created. the villan in this series is the reason why they, (being the asgard, nox, ancients, and furling) joined together.
plus if i turn SG Omega into its own universe i will be stealing the stargate idea. i want this to be stargate.
if there is someone out there that has free time on their hands, that is willing to give me a hand writing my story into script, email me. thanks.

Looking for writing tips. I started writing the pilot episode for SG:Omega. I want to know what all needs to be included in a script-based show.
For example: average length of a show, (number of pages and font size) how much background information is needed, (how much detail of the surroundings)
and other things that you think a good writer needs to know.
Thanks

Font size should probably be the standard font size your word processor starts on. I think a good amount of detail concerning surroundings is needed (EAG said I needed more, he was definately right) just dont put too much, dialogue is more important as a basis, detail can be worked in on later drafts of needed. As for pages, work out how long the show would be on TV (minus those EVIL EVIL commercial breaks at the most tense moments) and say one and a half to two pages per minute. So a fourty minute one is around 60-80 pages.
