Vala turns up at the SGC with a tablet - and Daniel Jackson must decode the symbols on the tablet, leading the SGC to comission the prototype vessel Hyperion to investigate an area known as the Small Magellanic Cloud. There, Hyperion 1 discover an Ancient Outpost, a new gate network and a fearsome new foe.
