Firstly, I want to say that I'm loving Destiny and have enjoyed
every episode.
(With a line like that, im sure you can guess whats coming...)
However, I was disapointed with this one, for a few reasons:(Note: These comments are intended to help you improve the series, not flame it. Please don't take them the wrong way!)
- We start with Tenyris and Morgami talking about their home government (?) and about contact and all that jazz, however, I'm sure this is the first its been mentioned. Its sorta thrown in there, while previously I've assumed that they were out of contact with their home. (Infact I suspected they were on-the-run, after the comment made in the pilot when they are collecting their stuff). They have Gate addressess of homeworlds, surely they could've dialed it and we could've seen a formal meeting between Barrows and Tenyris's ppl.
That said, I did like the fact that Morgami read earth history and doesn't approve of their methods.
- Some of the dialogue bugged me, it didn't fit in. For instance, the Wraith were suddenly all "Super Villian", but they aren't usually that talkative.
- The Wraith.
Cross-overs are awesome, and I loved the concept, but I'm still holding out to find out more about the Malecathi (sp?)
- Barrows doesn't appear to be too concerned with his team missing, sure he is suprised about the Dart, but doesn't go into "all hands on deck" mode, he is still in "observer who can't do anything" mode. It's the fault of the scene ending. It just ends with him talking to himself, while if it had him calling Orion-3 to a briefing or something like that then he'd appear to be more concerned.
Now some things which keep appearing in your scripts and are bugging me:- Alex.
Tenyris calls Hemmingway Alex, its been bugging me for weeks and I finally realised why. Tenyris is military, thus it should be automatic for him to call other military personel by their rank and last name. Also Hemmingway is his Commanding Officer, which doubles the importance. Tenyris uses ranks and last names for his men, and also many of the Destiny crew, but not Hemmingway....
- Movie references. Destiny is set in 2013 right? But they keep refering to movies from pre-2006, so either they love the "classics" or movies stopped being made between now and then.
On the whole, it was another good read and I look forward to the next episode
