Ok...so boredom at work has yet again stirred my imagination and I have updated the premise of my story. Enjoy and keep in mind there is still alot of work!

Several years have passed since the war with the Ori. The Milky Way, Pegasus, and Alteran galaxies have been devastated and although many lives have been lost, humanity and its kinfolk have survived...barely. Many great heroes were lost and found during that great time of turmoil. The people of Earth, in particular, were mostly unaware of the dangers they faced daily until the Ori brought the battle to their doorstep. At one point, Earth was a lost cause. Governments were in an upheaval and the priors were gathering strength at an unimagined rate. But as it would seem, when all hope was virtual lost, our allies were the ones who would finally aid us in the destruction of Ori. The Free Jaffa Nation, once teetering upon civil war, finally put their differences aside and joined their Tauri brothers in battle. The Asgard , still reeling from the massive losses from the Replicators but now free from the contractual agreements with the Goa’uld, offered valuable technology and aide whenever possible. The Nox, still with the belief that violence is not the only way, finally accept their role and showing us the extent of their power by cloaking entire planets. The Kelownans, the Hebridan, Retu, Genii, even the Lucian Alliance played a role in the outcome of the war. Finally, the war was over and a new unified system of power was formed. The 3 galaxies, joined together to share their knowledge and power with all living things. When this was achieved a strange and wonderful thing occurred. During the unification ceremony, a strange ship broke from Earths orbit and started to descend towards the reception. I transporter beam was activated and a tablet materialized on the podium in front of the newly elected leader of Earth, George Hammond. He stared blankly at the tablet for a moment and motioned for his new Secretary of Alien Affairs, Daniel Jackson to approach. Daniel recognized the language on the tablet and whispered what it read into the president’s ear. A smile drew across his face as he looked out on the crowd. Taking the tablet, and holding it in the air, he takes a breathe and begins to speak
“Ladies and Gentleman, I had a speech, that I still intend to read in a moment, but there is something that is much more important that has just arrived. This tablet is an invitation from the 4 great races…and was just personally delivered by the Furlings...”
The year is 2033 and Earth, along with its allies, have finally brought peace to the 3 galaxies. Many things have changed since the war with the Ori. Technology and knowledge is shared freely between all 3 galaxies. There are no more battle grounds, no pollution, no poverty, no famines. But still there are those that follow the Ori and believe that their god's will one day return.
During a routine mission the science vessel Archimedes is in a far corner of the Milky Way galaxy exploring a newly discovered solar system. Unknowingly, a small band or Ori followers, has beaten the crew to this new system and have already deemed the races that inhabit it now worthy of the Ori. Plans are already in motion to blow up the sun and destroy the non-believers. During a recon mission to one of the planets, the team falls under attack and retreats back to the Archimedes and set course for a spacegate they have dragged in tow. Just as they pass the event horizon, the Ori followers set there plan in motion and the sun goes super-nova, causing the spacegate to overload. When the crew wakes up they find themselves exactly where they left off. A little worse for wear but intact, the ship does a quick scan for the gate but it cannot be located on any of the sensors. They conclude that it may have been destroyed by the massive explosion and set course for Earth. As they approach, they try to contact SG command to relay the situation but they are surprised to find out that there is no response. A quick sensor sweep reveals nothing and they decide to make a descent down to the planet for visual confirmation. Fearing the worst, they believe perhaps there was an attack, but they’re fear was nothing compared to the shock they now see before them. There is nothing. No buildings, no homes, no cars. Still not understanding what has happened they head back to orbit and do a scan of the planet. Reality, finally sinking in, they notice that the Earth does not quite look right. At this point, they all realize what has happened and the severity of the situation. There is no SGC…there is no home! They have been sent back in time 5,000 years. Here, there is no peace, evil still rules this land. The mission was to explore but now it is just to survive! And above all else…they must get back!
